About Helen Phifer
I have always loved to read, ever since I was very young. My love of books turned into a passion for reading and I would read anything and everything I could get my hands on. Enid Blyton and Laura Ingalls Wilder were my two favourites when I was a kid. In my teenage years I progressed onto Stephen King, Dean Koontz, James Herbert and Graham Masterton. I spent a lot of time hiding under my duvet, scared out of my wits but I loved it. I love horror films and anything supernatural. I love reading or watching films that make the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. As I’ve got older I’ve found those type of books harder and harder to find so I set about to write my own.
I am 44 years old, work full time and have five almost grown up children and a granddaughter. As well as two horses (my daughter’s but I seem to have adopted them.) Two dogs and two cats, I write whenever I get a moment and have often found myself up at the crack of dawn when I have a deadline to meet. It’s not easy to find a quiet place to write so I depend on my trusty iPod to drown out the mayhem that is quite often happening around me.
If you read any of my books I sincerely hope that you enjoy them, I’ve been incredibly lucky to have such amazing readers who have told me exactly how much they have loved both The Ghost House and The Secrets of the Shadows. I can only apologise in advance if you get sucked into Annie Graham’s world and can’t go to sleep or are late for work because you had to read one more page.
